Hamataliwa incompta (Thorell, 1895)

Common Boxy Lynx Spider

In both sexes, the front part of the cephalothorax is particularly boxy in side view. A broad longitudinal band of glittering setae (easily rubbed off) is flanked by a pair of dark brown lateral belts with variable indentations jutting slightly towards the midline of the abdomen.

BiologyA mother guarding a papery egg sac on a leaf fragment is shown in the picture at the bottom.
