Common Banded Wandering Spider
As in Anahita sp. A. a pale longitudinal band runs from the anterior end of the carapace to the posterior end of the dorsum. The pale band on the male abdomen, however, is bracketed by a pair of unbroken brownish bands, unlike the paired series of blackish brown patches seen in the male of Anahita sp. A.
This species has been described as Ctenus periculosus from specimens collected in Indonesia (Lampung: Krakatoa) but misplaced under the genus Ctenus whose members do not have the Anahita-signature longitudinal abdominal band. Pending a formal transfer through a peer-reviewed research publication, we are recording this species under Anahita but without calling it "Anahita periculosus".
