Hairy Bronze Jumper
Anarrhotus is a genus closely related to Pancorius. both characterised by their relatively large size (>8 mm), robust legs and the presence of stiff hairs projecting forward and laterally around the posterior lateral eyes. A. fossulatus is the only described species of Anarrhotus.
This species was described by Eugene Simon, based on a male specimen that he collected in Singapore. The morphological characters visible to the naked eye include its large size and the long hair all over the body. The legs are armed with long spines, along with white hairs. The males are bronzy in colouration while the females are brick-red with a distinct pattern posteriorly as shown in the upper left picture on the next page.
