Golden Hair Armoured Sac Spider
Spiders of the genus Apochinomma differ other ant-mimicking corinnids by their genitalia as well as several other morphological characteristics. The posterior eye row is "recurved". In both sexes, there is a grooved collar in front of the abdomen. There is also a hard plate known as the "scutum" under the surface of the dorsum. The female scutum is short, occupying only one-third from the anterior end. In the males, the scutum covers almost the entire length of the abdomen. It is wrinkled anteriorly and appears polished posteriorly. In both sexes, the carapace is sparsely covered with golden setae. These setae form several transverse bands across the dorsum. The shape of the abdomen and leg colouration may vary with individuals.
