Araneus sp. "White-spotted"

White-spotted Orb Weaver

This species can be recognised by a median circular white spot and two darkly coloured transverse bands at the anterior half of the dorsum. The colour intensity of the dark bands may vary, but the posterior band is usually fainter than the anterior one.

Length♀ 5 mm; ♂ unknown.
HabitatVegetation around parkland and mangrove fringes.
BiologyThe spherical egg sac is covered with a loose mesh of light golden silk.
