Beaded Crab Spider
The "boxy" cephalothorax is exceptionally high in side view and the legs are relatively short and stout, without spines. The dorsum is studded with small bead-shaped projections. Their colour is usually uniformly dark but some specimens, young or mature, may be lighter or may bear lighter abdominal patches. The carapace and abdomen of mature females are often covered by strands of silk. presumably laid down by visiting males attempting to mate with them.
