Bell Comb-footed Spider
Spiders of the genus Campanicola are similar in appearance to Nesticodes and Parasteatoda. They can be distinguished from these genera by their genitalia, and by the round, dirty yellow abdomen and dull pattern on the dorsum comprising several irregular black patches.
All described Campanicola are known to build a bell-shaped retreat made of debris, with the opening facing downward. This is likely the case with this species, as the pictured specimen was found at night in the vicinity of such retreats.
