Ubin Variegated Daddy-long-legs
C. ubin resembles C. halabala in general appearance, but can be easily distinguished by its association with disturbed vegetation and its characteristic carapace with a pattern of posteriorly radiating black lines with a distinct red patch, present in both males and females. The background colour of the female abdomen may range from dull yellow in most cases to pink in certain individuals. The spider was named after Singapore’s Pulau Ubin where the first described specimen was found.
