Clown-faced Jumper
The species name "sannio" means "making a face" or "looking like a fool" in Latin. It probably refers to the clownish look of the male "face" which bears a creamy white clypeus. While the male body and legs show a contrasting black-and-white pattern, the female is uniformly coloured with beige hairs, often with dark brown hairs on the sides of the carapace, and a fringe of darkly coloured hairs along the anterior edge of the abdomen. In some females, the dorsum has some dark spots arranged in a herring-bone pattern.
