The species featured here is placed under Cirrosus, a genus containing only a single species from southern China, on the basis that the structures of its palps are similar to those of the species described from China.
The Singapore male can be recognised in the field by its large eyes, with the pearly PME and PLE surrounded by black pigmentation, and almost touching each other. Other diagnostic characters include a yellow abdomen with a dorsal black patch posteriorly near the spinnerets, as well as a median ventral blackish patch in front of the spinnerets.
