Red-Blotched Ebrechtella
Spiders of the genus Ebrechtella share the same body plan seen in Henriksenia. Mastira and thomisids provisionally classified under the genus Massuria. All have lateral eyes on short tubercles, a glossy carapace and a pentagonal abdomen. They are often found in similar habitats. For these reasons, it may be difficult to distinguish them, especially when specimens are immature, and the genitalia cannot be examined. However, Ebrechtella may be identified by elimination: they do not show some of the more discernible bodily characteristics associated with similar-looking genera discussed under the respective pages.
The species name of E. concinna means "red" in Latin. It refers to the indistinct blood-red blotches on the almost silvery white dorsum of the females. The males are smaller and have more conspicuous red abdominal botches, a coloured band around the eyes, and banded legs.
