Salticidae Epeus

Epeus sumatranus Prószyński & Deeleman-Reinhold, 2012

Sumatra Jade Jumper

The male resembles that of E. furcatus in general appearance, but it can be recognised from its palpal structures and marginally more slender legs I, particularly tibiae I. The crest of erect hair may be variable in its angle. but it is never as high and well developed as those of Epeus sp. A.

The female body ranges from pale to bright yellow, with two longitudinal bands of white setae on the dorsum. Such colouration and pattern can also be found in Epeus sp. G. They can be distinguished only from examination of the female reproductive organs.
