Rhomboidal Twin-humpback Spider
The species was described by the French arachnologist Eugène Simon based on a female he personally collected in Singapore.
The eyes are surrounded by red pigmentation, a feature seen in Brunepisinus. Like Brunepisinus, the AME are mounted on a rounded and projecting ocular region above the clypeus. However, unlike Brunepisinus, the AME are slightly smaller than the remaining eyes. These eyes are more closely grouped than in Brunepisinus in what appears, from above, to be a low hump. In both sexes, the broadly rhomboidal, sometimes trapezoidal, abdomen is shorter than those of Brunepisinus, and the lateral humps are more prominent than those of Episinus sp. B.
There is much variation in abdominal pattern, with males and females often appearing different from the respective individuals shown on this page. In general, females exhibit a more distinct and contrasting abdominal pattern than the males.
