Pop-eye Big-head Jumper
This species is immediately identifiable by the elevated tubercles of the posterior eyes (particularly conspicuous in the male) and by its size (the species name "besar" is derived from the Malay word for "big"). There is an unmistakable median line at the anterior end of the abdomen in both males and females.
The female has a tall and orangish-brown carapace, and a characteristic pair of jagged bars on the posterior part of the abdomen.
The male carapace is black, with a belt of white hairs along its lower margin. The abdomen may be dark brown or black. The legs are lined with numerous long white hairs.
