Gnathopalystes sp. "Jade"

Jade Huntsman

The carapace of the female is convex and jade green. The abdomen is yellow to green with a median green stripe anteriorly. A distinct red patch marks the ventral side of the female abdomen. The male appears totally different from the female. It is smaller and is light brown in colour.

DistributionSingapore, Malaysia, Brunei.
HabitatJungle fringes and disturbed forests, often hiding underneath or between leaves.
BiologyThe spherical egg sac is guarded by the mother, and not carried under the chelicerae as in Heteropoda.
