Oxyopidae Hamadruas

"Hamadruas" sp. "Crocodile Fairy"

Crocodile Fairy Lynx Spider

Although the structures of the male palps are consistent with those of other Hamadruas, its exact taxonomic position needs further study. It is not as slender as the typical Hamadruas. Furthermore, its carapace shows the box-like profile of a typical Hamataliwa: with a flat roof, with a vertical front face. When viewed from a certain angle and under suitable light conditions, the reflective setae on the male body strikes up a "bronzy" appearance, with its eye-catching appearance further reinforced by the reflective white setae scattered over the carapace, dorsum, and legs. The colour of the female varies: some are brown while others have irregular green marks on the carapace and dorsum.
