Salticidae Hasarius

Hasarius adansoni (Audouin, 1826)

Adanson’s House Jumper

Most Singaporeans are familiar with this spider which is frequently seen on walls inside or outside houses.

The male is easily recognised by the conspicuous white hairs covering their palps. There are two white spots on the dorsum and a crescent of white or pale coloured hairs on the carapace and in the front part of the abdomen.

The female has a crescent of pale brown hairs on the anterior edge of the dorsum, and paired dark patches posteriorly.
