Pholcidae Leptopholcus

Leptopholcus podophthalmus (Simon, 1893)

Short Leptopholcus

This species has a shorter abdomen compared to typical Leptopholcus. It has eight eyes although the lenses of AME are not so obvious. In the males, the entire ocular area is distinctly darkened, and the two eye triads are mounted on stalks. In the females, the ocular area is not pigmented, and the eyes are not on stalks.
