Menemerus nigli Wesołowska & Freudenschuss, 2012

South Asian House Jumper

First described from Pakistan, this species differs from the more common M. bivittatus by lacking a Y-shaped pattern (in the males) and in the absence of a pair of black abdominal stripes (in the females). In this species, the predominantly black carapace in both sexes is sparsely covered with white, beige, greyish and black hairs (more profuse in the female), and the dorsum is clothed with mixed patches of similar hairs (more distinct in the female).

HabitatA "domestic" spider associated with man-made structures, but they tend to be found on external walls of buildings. They may also be found under stones or on rocks in parkland and secondary forests.
