Miniature Jumper
Members of the genus Neon are some of smallest species of jumping spiders, with adults measuring just around 2 mm. The diminutiveness of the species is clearly demonstrated in the picture of a male sitting on a Singapore 20 cents coin. Other characters of the genus include a short abdomen and disproportionately large ALE and PLE.
Both sexes of N. sumatranus have a single white stripe on the carapace and two stripes on the abdomen. The legs are translucently yellow, with black rings on the segments.
