Bukit Timah Armoured Spider
The only pacullids found in Singapore to date belong to the genus Paculla. Compared to other pacullids, Paculla spiders have longer legs, especially among the males. They are closely related to Lamania, and differ only in details of their genitalia and abdominal plating. Like Lamania, they are dark-brown, fall within the 3–5 mm size range, and have a heavily sclerotised and warty carapace with each minute protuberance bearing a seta.
This species was named after the Bukit Timah Nature Reserve where the type specimen was found. Pictures of females are shown on the previous page.
