Common Lichen Huntsman
The body of this most common species of Pandercetes in Singapore is light green with irregular black markings on the abdomen and legs. The colouration makes it almost invisible on mossy, lichen-covered tree trunks.
: A male (above) approaching a female prior to copulation. Note the elevated ocular area and the male palps. The body is covered predominantly by green setae, unlike the male pictured in the previous page (whose body is clothed by more brown setae than green ones). B: A freshly moulted juvenile emerging from its suspended cast exoskeleton (skin).C, D, E: An aged mature female, probably of the same species, with most of the setae on the carapace rubbed off, presumably through natural "wear and tear". The body was wet as it was photographed after a heavy rain.
