This glossy black spider with a globular abdomen is the smallest spider known in Singapore, with mature females measuring a mere 0.6 mm. It can be identified in the field by its closely woven, planar horizontal orb webs, with a diameter of 2 to 3 cm.

BiologyUp to a dozen of egg sacs may be found at the periphery of the mother’s web. The woolly egg sac each contains only a single, pinkish egg.
