Singapore Mangrove Wolf Spider
This wolf spider is recognised in the field by its relatively small size (< 4 mm), association with the mangrove environment, and a generally paler colouration compared with the more common wolf spiders, such as Pardosa, in Singapore. In both sexes, the carapace is marked by two pairs of vaguely bracket-shaped dark bands. Its genitalia suggest that it belongs to a new genus closely related to the genus Pirata which is more widespread in temperate countries. Until further research establishes and defines a new taxon for this species, it is provisionally parked under Pirata.
