Kaleidoscope Bug Jumper
This species belongs to the subtribe Simaethina and provisionally classified under the genus Stergusa. Stergusa are related to Heratemita and Ligurra. sharing their bug or beetle-like appearance. They differ in having a narrower carapace that is rectangular, being distinctly longer than wide.
In both sexes of the species found in Singapore, the body and legs are covered with numerous iridescent scales of different hues. Compared with the male, the female has a slightly shouter abdomen with more purple scales.
