Shorty Armoured Spider
There are only two described species of Sulaimania, one from Malaysia (Johor), and the other from Singapore. In both cases, the females are unknown. The males have only four eyes, arranged in an arc with the AME ahead of the ALE. The AME are characteristically surrounded within a black field. The sclerotised surfaces of the body are smoother than in most other tetrablemmids.
S. brevis is distinguished from S. vigelandi (from Malaysia) by its shorter embolus. (The species name "brevis" means "short".) The embolus is twisted only slightly at the tip. and does not bend like a hook as in S. vigelandi. Other distinguishing characters include its slightly larger size, a less circular carapace, and a a sternum with net-like margins.
All images are those of a male.
