Zodariidae Tropizodium

Tropizodium sp. "Unshaven"

Unshaven Ground Spider

Spiders of the genus Tropizodium differ from other zodariids by their eye arrangement and the presence of certain characteristic hairs on the legs. Like two of Singapore’s "Asceua". the AME are larger than other eyes, but unlike these "Asceua", the remaining eyes are not dark, but each has a reflective retina. Also, the PME are far apart from each other and are positioned behind the PLE. The femora, covered densely by appressed hairs. appear under a microscope to be almost like tiny tree trunks with many cuts slashed by a parang (Malaysian machete).
