Luzon Daddy-long-legs
Both sexes of U. luzonica can be recognised by a partially darkened carapace, and a spotted and cylindrical abdomen with a creamy-yellow patch at the posterior end. These same features are found also in Pholcus gracillimus. However, U. luzonica has only six eyes whereas P. gracillimus is an eight-eyed species with a slightly stouter abdomen with an orange or yellowish orange spot. Also, while P. gracillimus is a foliage dweller, U. luzonica is found mainly in non-leafy micro-habitats (see below).
