Yin-yang Ray Spider
The generic name Zoma is derived from the Greek word for a belt or girdle. It refers to the transverse belt of white or silvery flecks across a darkly coloured abdomen. The contrasting or "yin-yang" pattern is shared by the Singapore female, and by those of the four species of this genus described from elsewhere. The white belt is thinner and less distinct on the male abdomen. Its colour may range from orange to dark brown.
