Orange-spotted Long-legged Wandering Spider
Compared to Anahita and Ctenus (pages xxx-xxx), spiders of the genus Acantheis have more elongated legs. They have a less rotund body than Ctenus. The carapace has a distinct v-shaped depression. resulting in a humped profile on side view. A bundle of stiff bristles project from the eye area, giving them a "unicorn" look.
The species found on the floor of Singapore’s forests has a median longitudinal stripe on the carapace with patches of orange setae around the eyes and on both sides of the median white stripe. The tawny-haired abdomen is covered with white and orange setae.
