Red-spotted Tufted Wandering Spider
The two species featured on this page differ from Acantheis sp. A by having tufts of erect setae on the legs and abdomen. Their legs are more elongated than those of Anahita. but less spindly than those of Acantheis sp. A. Both species are provisionally placed in the genus Acantheis, but further research is necessary to consider if they should be classified under a new genus within the same subfamily Acantheinae, after comparing them with similar-looking ctenids found elsewhere in Southeast Asia.
This species differs from the species below by having a yellow rhomboid on the posterior one-thirds. In addition, it has conspicuous red spots on the dorsum, together with a pair of larger dark red dots in the centre.
