Yen Ant-mimicking Spider
The background colour can vary from dark red or black. Nevertheless, this species may be easily distinguished from other Aetius in Singapore by the truncated or straight end of the carapace extension and the pattern of longitudinal and transverse bands of yellowish hairs on the carapace vaguely resembling the currency symbol of the Yen ( ¥ ) or the Chinese character 王. The pattern may vary as the hairs are easily rubbed off.
