Yellow-banded Ant Hunter
Of the five species currently classified under the genus "Asceua", this is the most common, and may be regarded as a true Asceua as represented by the type species A. elegans Thorell, 1887. In both sexes, the brownish abdomen is traversed by darker loops or irregular bands. The ALE are much smaller compared to the other eyes. The male’s abdominal scutum (white arow) is short and narrow.
