Double-banded Iridescent Jumper
The black cephalothorax in box sexes is decorated with a transverse band of scales with a metallic blue sheen, immediately behind the front eyes. The centre of the female carapace is occupied by a diamond-shaped patch of white setae. A pair of broad bands of white setae fringe the lateral edges of the carapace. The abdomen is covered by iridescent scales and two longitudinal black bands, with a pair of black bands extending diagonally backward towards the venter. The male is similarly coloured, but, in addition, their palps and legs are decorated with white setae and iridescent scales respectively.
The species was described from a female in Sumatra in the 19th century. A male was found more recently in West Sumatra and was described by Prószyński and Deeleman-Reinhold in 2012 as Phintella conradi. However, they highlighted an unusual plate on the palp and suggested that the species might eventually be classified under another genus. Whether this species should eventually be placed under Chrysilla, Phintella or another genus is a subject requiring further investigation.
