Bactrian Camel Spider
This species is closely related to "Episinus" gibbus Zhu & Wang, 1991 found in tropical Hainan in southern China. In addition to the anterior abdominal projection over the cephalothorax, the dorsum has a low upward-pointing hump on a leathery scutum over the dorsum. The dorsal scutum itself is studded with short thorns and some socketed short spines. The colour of the male may vary from brown to black.
