Perplexing Goblin Spider
G. insomnia, named for the sleepless nights endured by the researcher who described this species, is a wide-ranging armoured species with a pair of denticles at the rear of the carapace roof. These vary in size from specimen to specimen. Another pair of denticles extend rearwards from either side near the posterior carapace margin. These may also vary in size. In addition, each of the lateral margins of the carapace of females, and sometimes the males, bears about seven small and evenly spaced outward-pointing denticles. The sternum is marked with broad and shallow pits.
