Starry Night Gelotia
Compared with G. syringopalpis and its other relatives in the subfamily Spartaeinae, such as Portia. the PME are small in both sexes of this species. The female legs and body are darkly coloured with numerous lighter spots, like stars in a night sky. The species name "bimaculata" refers to two spots under the female abdomen.
The male abdomen is covered with darkly coloured iridescent setae. A pair of pale-coloured bands define the lower margins of the carapace and the sides of the abdomen. White setae cover the front and back of the abdomen in some specimens, and parts of the legs in other cases. There are conspicuous patches of white setae covering each of the black male palps.
