Common Tapir Ground Spider
This is the most common of the three Hitobia species in Singapore. The dark carapace of the male is covered with silvery, light-reflecting hairs, especially in the region behind the eyes. The dark abdomen bears two tranverse bands of silvery hairs, one near the anterior edge, and another just beyond mid way along the abdomen. The spinnerets are almost completely dark.
