White-crested Tapir Ground Spider
This species differs from Hitobia sp. A by having a distinct and broad longitudinal band of silvery hairs on the carapace. The band branches downwards at the posterior end. Each branch then sweeps forward, along its respective edge of the carapace, forming in overall dorsal view, an anchor-like pattern.
The abdomen is almost black,. with two bold, white, and well-separated lateral bands, one anterior-most, and the second lying across the abdomen where it tapers towards the spinnerets.
The dorsal patellae III & IV are a pale yellowish, contrasting with most of the remaining segments of legs III & IV. Such patellae are also found in Hitobia sp. A and Hitobia sp. C (below).
