Wanless’ Ant Jumper
Named after the late Fred Wanless, an authority on Salticidae and former curator at the Natural History Museum in London, the male is recognised by a combination of characters, including an apically swollen chelicerae with a divided tooth at the apex. an oval abdomen, a short pedicel, a pair of palps with an unusually expanded coiled embolus. The colour of the abdomen varies from brown to black.
The female has a pair of expanded palps and a plate-like cover over the anterior half of its oval abdomen.
