Pale-palped Portia
The species name "crassipalpis" means "heavy palps" but this is a feature seen in many other Portia. Like other Portia, there is also a median white line with a pair of lateral wedgeshaped bands on the carapace. However, it may be separated from its kin by its paler colouration, palps with mostly white hairs, and the fact that the abdomen has only two small tufts of light brownish hairs. The female is similar to P. labiata (page xxx), with a white "moustache" on the clypeus. However, female C. crassipalpis has fewer tufts of hair on the abdomen than P. labiata.
