Theridiidae Argyrodes

Argyrodes argentatus O. Pickard-Cambridge, 1880

Silver Teardrop Food Stealer

Compared with Argyrodes sp. C (above), the abdomen is higher and looks more like a teardrop. The name "argentatus", meaning "silvery", refers to its predominantly silvery dorsum, The stark contrast between a silvery dorsum and a dark brown venter (along with a dark brown carapace) adds to the striking appearance of the spider.
