Deeleman’s Two-tailed Spider
This species shares certain characters seen also H. savignyi. First, legs I, II and IV are extraordinarily elongated, especially in the males. Second, the anterior lateral edges of the abdomen are marked by a pair of black brackets. However, H. deelemanae differs from H. savignyi by having pinkish patches on the carapace and the abdomen, but these may not be visible in all individuals. The female abdomen is pea-shaped (as against the grape-shaped abdomen in female H. savignyi). The posterior lateral spinnerets (PLS) are longer than the abdomen, more so in the males. In H. savignyi, the PLS are not significantly longer than the length of its abdomen.
