Rotund White Running Crab Spider

The female is recognised by an almost circular carapace, a broad abdomen and white hairs covering the entire body. Dense and short white hairs clothe the abdomen, especially the dorsum, like a carpet. Femora I, II and III are each armed by three short, brown dorsal spines. Tibiae I, II and III bear several pairs of ventral spines.

HabitatFoliage and tree trunks in parkland and forest.
BiologyThe mother lays its eggs on an upper surface of a leaf and seals them under a mat of white silk. Sitting motionlessly against the white egg sac, the white-bodied mother is well camouflaged against potential predators.
