Pearly Tortoise-shell Spider
The abdomen is shaped and textured as in the similarly sized Phoroncidia sp. A. but instead of having a red dorsum as in the Phoroncidia sp. A female, the dorsum of both the male and female of this species has an overall pearly hue and sheen.
The photos on this page clearly depict the tubular extension of the ocular area, which is conspicuously extended among the males of all Phoroncidia. The photos also exhibit the different textures and colourations between the male and female carapace.
