Salticidae Plexippus

Plexippus setipes Karsch, 1879

Lesser Housefly Catcher

The male can be distinguished from those of P. paykulli and P. petersi by the kite-shaped pattern on the carapace. There may be a transverse bar or a pair of orange-red patches behind the AME. The male palps of some specimens from Singapore are bicoloured. The female can be recognised by the uninterrupted broad median white band on the dorsum. In some females, the median band may jut out slightly as a pair of triangular extensions.
