Tiger-striped Teardrop Translucent Spider
This is the commonest species of Chrysso in Singapore. In both sexes, the colours may vary from white to yellow, but the bodies and legs are always armed with long spines and conspicuous flattened hairs.
In the female, the dorsum is traversed by a series of black lines, like tiger stripes, while the lower half of the abdomen is shaped like a teardrop with the spinnerets pointing downwards and backwards. A median longitudinal black line runs over the carapace.
The male is more slender and only slightly smaller than the female. It also differs from the female by having broken transverse stripes over the dorsum.
