Salticidae Phintella

Phintella sp. "Mangrove"

Mangrove Golden Jumper

This species has so far been found only in Singapore mangroves. Both sexes are similar in overall appearances, easily recognised by the transverse band of white setae across the largely golden abdomen, a pair of white bands behind the PLE, and a white rhomboidal patch at the posterior end of the carapace. The male and female fit the descriptions of Phintella clathrata (Thorell, 1895) described from Myanmar, but whether it is indeed the same species will require examination of the genitalia of the type materials.
