Tiger-striped Dwarf Huntsman
This species is easily recognised as one of the smallest among all the known Heteropoda in Singapore, with the male measuring no more than 6 mm in length. Although some females may reach up to 8 mm, most others are smaller by half. The orangish brown bands on its legs and over the carapace (especially obvious among the females) can lead imaginative observers to liken them to a tiger. Compared with other Heteropoda, the eyes in both males and females are proportionally larger, and are made to appear particularly prominent by the white hairs at their rims. The cervical groove in this species is relatively deeper than in most other Heteropoda in Singapore.
